I bought a Purdey bar in wood 12 gauge from Peter. We have discussed the 410 and he showed me this gun before he posted it. I am not a fan of beaver tail fore ends on shotguns. He is watching an auction in England that has a good looking 410 for sale. Hoping it will be affordable…

Almost useless, IMO, with zero choke in either barrel. For a .410 to be effective it is imperative that it have enough barrel constriction to deliver killing pattern density. It could be choke sleeved, or possibly have screw ins added, if barrel thickness at the muzzle allowed it. Either some misguided individual ordered it that way or had the original constrictions honed out. A travesty either way for such a pretty thing with 30" tubes.
May God bless America and those who defend her.

or...perhaps just a lovely little advanced skeet gun, just as it is...
it would be fun to develop optimum patterns for it, by experimenting with different powders, wads and shot loads...
like we used to do way back when...

The gun at Holts auction went too high, still looking for that hens tooth 410 hammer gun with English grip…

Very nice!
I love the ebony fore-end tip. I'm anxious to get mine back from Mark and see how it turns out!
How long are those barrels, shrapnel? And, how are they choked?
