Rescued a 4 Month old French version of the Drahthaar - Griffon - Korthals from 4 Kids near North Atlanta in Marietta. Actually his kennel is only 20 minutes North of me by Crop-DusterIThanks to Wolfgang for locating it). Odd sequence of events. The Georgia owner purportedly made a claim that he was aggressive and called the Kennel Owner to try to persuade to buy him back. They had him listed on a Rescue Website trying to sort thru 25 potential new homes. The Pup was a male of a litter of 8. I think the owner either kept him in a crate or leashed to the wall in the basement. Anyway the Tasmanian Devil of Marietta is nothing of the sort. His nose is phenomenal and he actually has the potential to Best a German Drahthaar?? I've always wanted one and this one pretty much dropped in my lap. Very dependent dog that responds well to correction & change. Have him doing water retrieves @ 4 months. Much work to do though and keeps me busy till I get him acclimated. ![[Linked Image from thumbs2.imgbox.com]](https://thumbs2.imgbox.com/63/69/TXnogj2U_t.jpg) ![[Linked Image from thumbs2.imgbox.com]](https://thumbs2.imgbox.com/2a/24/VW9ciBBa_t.jpg) Hochachtungsvoll, Raimey rse

Raimey, Have the boys do the training, it will be as valuable to them as to the puppy, over their lifetime. Mike

I am trying Ford, I am Trying..... They have busy lives but both are drawn to the Pup....
It apparently is an odd situation and we have only had him about 10 days but he needs rigid structure & trying to get the boys to make him walk that like turns out to be a task for me. Me to them, them to him..

Indeed Wolfgang as he is a whale of a Dog with all kinds of potential. @ just over 4 months old, we have already started him on blind water retrieves. And some of what I have read about the breed is that they have a lack of fondness for water¿ Again, you can't put much stock in what you read.

My Wirehair would have walked a mile to cross a creek rather than put her feet in the water. To her credit, she loved to swim with me at the beach.

Interesting, she must prefer Brackish or Salt Water???
@ around 95°F this afternoon, we achieved some Blind Retrieve Progress / Success. When they are quite young and small, they have difficulty getting their heads high enough in the water to actually see the target. @ this age, they mostly go on direction.
