The word is Cabela's and Bass Pro have gone ''ANTI GUN'' In New York and Other States. In NEW YORK for sure
they will not sell any type of ''Semi Auto, Rifle or Hand guns. Cabela's in other states will not ship any Semi Autos
to a FFL Dealer in New York if you buy it on line. What the ''HELL IS GOING ON'' with them. I Just found this out today.

Maybe it's New York that takes an anti-gun stance rather than Cabelas

It's NYS, I just had handgun shipped from NV to local Cabela's. Took a week and no shipping or transfer fees.

Colorado is in the process of doing the same thing by outlawing the sale of semi-auto weapons with detachable magazines. It looks like this bill has been muddied up to the point you need an attorney to figure it out, but if the original version did go through Cabela's, Bass Pro or anyone else wouldn't be able to sell or do an FFL transfer on these type guns.

Some states have made it so difficult to do business in the state that some companies, especially online companies, no longer have any interest in doing business with residents of those states. It just isn't worth the aggravation and potential lawsuits. NJ, NY, MA and CA are just some of those states.

It's not that I love Cabela's anymore (I don't) but it has much more to do with the State they're trying to operate in. Colorado has made it so onerous to conduct a business that involves firearms that many of our more interesting (better) gun shops here are closing. Colorado is going full-on California commie it seems (too-many lefty transplants here from "Calli" & the other "Blue" states). I'll be smuggling ammo in from Wyoming shortly and I suspect that many (if not most) of our clay ranges will start to suffer thereafter.

I've lived here for 40-years and I had hoped to be able to enjoy the world my wife & I have created in Colorado for our golden years. Not so sure of that now. I have some hope that the massive "Trumpian" upheavals in Washington these days would eventually have a positive impact here eventually but...time will of-course tell on that one.

Cabelas treated me well on the last gun transaction I made. Bought a SXS from a Wisconsin store and they shipped it free to Anchorage, and processed the Background check free. I'm not sure this (shipping) policy will continue to be available, though. I was an FFL holder for years and chose not to handle Black guns.

Bass Pro in Gainesville FL sells no used guns new only. They will accept transfers of guns from other stores and outside parties.

Cabela's and Bass Pro are fabulous stores...and by no means anti-gun.
NY State and the demo-rats/lefty/communists in power are the issue...frivolous liability litigation tempers the enthusiasm of legitimate retail concerns.
