Really. Any of you are actually wondering?
An actual spy balloon was allowed to cross the United States from Alaska to points south, loitering over sensitive military installations at will, for days on end, maneuvering to get optimal visual and electronic contact, with the administration claiming it didn’t see it, until private citizens posted actual photos of it in various media sources. The administration claimed it didn’t know what it was, then claimed it was a weather balloon, then claimed it hadn’t gathered any intelligence, and after having let it wander across the country, shot it down over the eastern seaboard, and didn’t bother to recover any of it.
Just another day in a term of compromised, leftist, leadership. The Chinese own the current president, there are things on a certain laptop that if any of us watched it, we would go to prison. That isn’t an accident, nor is the decade long, all criminal violations known, and yet to be discovered, get out of jail free card given to the current presidents criminal spawn.
They know what they are. They know who is doing it, and, in fact, arranged for it to be happening now. They could not care less how it impacts you, your family, or your life.
Deal with it.
Best, Ted

Serbus,
Raimey rse It is a felony to shoot at aircraft, including drones. Don’t do the crime, if you can’t do the time. Best, Ted

There is a bi-annual flyer shoot held about an hour from me in SC at Broxton Bridge Plantation. About 6 years go the SHARK (Showing Animals Respect and Kindness) and LCA (Last Chance for Animals) people set up on the highway outside the plantation where the shoot is held. They flew a drone with camera over the pigeon rings to get camera footage. The owner told guests to shoot it down, that they had no right to be filming over his private property. They did, with rifles. Nothing ever became of it, and the animal rights activists never came back that I know of. You can do a search for it on youtube and watch the videos.
If someone flies one over my house/yard/hunting land, intentionally spying, without my consent, it's getting the same treatment. Sometimes it's easier to get forgiveness than permission.
FAA regs state:
"If a drone is flying over your property and taking pictures and videos of you without your consent, then it is violating the FAA’s privacy guidelines. However, you would need to be able to provide evidence that a drone is taking footage of you in order to prove that it has violated the FAA guidelines, and this is incredibly difficult to obtain. There are some restrictions about where drones can fly, including stadiums and sporting events, airports, government-secured airspaces, and the greater Washington, D.C. area".
May God bless America and those who defend her.

There's caselaw in Virginia I think it is where chickens were killed by landing & taking off military craft. A farmer sued & a minimum height was established as to what you actually own.

Stan, I also believe that it is against the law to fly over private property and people according to the FAA regulations, licensed or otherwise. Karl

Drones are radio controlled. Radio frequencies are owned and assigned by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Military makes a science of electronic warfare and detection. All it would take is for the SECDEF to say to the Joint Chiefs "Bring me the data on all the drones tomorrow, or put your resignations on my desk." Problem is, SECDEF and the JCS probably already know the answer and arent talking. Just my take on it.

Serbus, Raimey rse I know a guy in Montana shot down a drone that he claimed was ogling his daughter at poolside, and he was within city limits. He got away with it, but it took some lawyering. I think if you are sure you can get it to the ground and dispose of if permanently and quickly, maybe the 3S philosophy would apply. But whether I would to it, probably not. I don't find drones threatening and I don't have anything to hide, so the cost to benefit ratio just does not balance favorably. But if I was a Coastie captain and had a fleet of drones dogging my boat and the water was deep, they might not all get back to base. Be interesting to launch a drone that could follow them home.
