Good day everyone

I recently acquired an Abercrombie & Fitch W. & C. Scott & Son 20ga shotgun. Gun is in excellent condition. However one major issue....it is missing the complete forearm!!! I am looking for any help on finding a forearm for this beautiful gun or getting one made for it. If anyone knows of a forearm or if anyone can point me in some directions on finding one or having one made. Again it is complete forearm metal and wood that I am needing.

Thank you for any help in advance!

I asked a similar question years and years ago of an English gunmaker, he said it was too expensive. I think your best bet might be to find a Britt boxlock 20 ga preferably and Webley and Scott in bad shape that you can rescue the forearm.

Also another idea...if some one that has one of these guns...would you be willing to remove the metal and take pictures and dimensions of the forearm metal for me? I do have extensive background in fabrication. If I can not find, I will make the metal parts my self and have the wood done.

If so reach out to me! Thank you!

Could you please post a picture of the guns action. Dimensions of the action “knuckle” (height & width) would be helpful too.

Been down this path a couple of times and you are right, the metal is the (expensive) issue. Some years ago my friend and ‘smith called me for some help with a 20ga Ithaca that had come in missing its forend. It was a family heirloom that had been inherited and the non-shooting couple wanted it for their mantel. I happened to know where one for that model had been (and turned out, still was) but it was missing the metal. Since they only wanted it for looks, it was a fairly inexpensive modification to fit the wood to the barrels with a nice looking cover plate and they went away happy for relatively short money. The other time I needed a forend I had the metal.

I hope someone here has a similar gun and can help you with the measurements.

I will get some measurements tomorrow.

What is the trick to post some pictures? I have a picture of the action and also a couple pics for reference of what I am looking for

I have one of these guns in 20 ga. also. A prior owner obtained information lettered to the gun and passed it on. These guns were sold as model 703 (single trigger) and 704 (double triggers). They are believed to be the same as the Webley& Scott model 700. The information letter is signed by Robert C. Beach. Hope this helps.
