What is going on is utter BS. We have another provocateur. And the good people of this board are now fighting the same battle we waged 6 years ago to free this site of this stuff, which caused a major exodus of expertise.

I've asked Jimmy politely to quit the political postings. He enjoys it and won't as several uproars on consecutive lines show.

Dave has to step in. We know from experience from the last go-round that the political poster recognizes no authority and will invade and destroy every line on this board, insult and hack anyone in pursuit of his enemy list or in the name of ideological fanaticism. And they will ruin the very site that gives them their inflated (if meagre) soap box.

Please exercise discipline and stick to the subject matter. A coalition of us will work with Dave to try to solve this because the people behind it have every intention to continue.

I'll add that this site has always been "lively." Personal insults are tolerated. But if it continues like this past week...this place is toast.

I never mentioned Trump or Harris one time. It wasn't political at all. The subject was the hurricane which someone started and I was posting that my home was hit hard and the weather is only going to get worse. Then someone jumped in and attacked me. I showed pictures that I lost power. Then someone attacked me again because they had underground wiring. Those guys got the ball rolling. Not me.

Think about this Jimmy. "Climate change" is a hot button. . .push it and a whole host of issues comes up and it has nothing to do with double guns. All of us can just throttle it back. Think twice. This is not the forum to argue this stuff. But it will destroy your site.

So what you are saying is that a left-leaning member cannot reference a "hot button" (provide a list of those please), but certainly no one complains if a right-leaning member does. That is bullsh1t, Argo44, bullsh1t - and yes, I know how to spell it.

I like double-guns Brent D. Don't need the politics and I mentioned this in our 2018 struggle against this stuff.

But you never rise when the "other side" does this, which is far more often if only because they are far more numerous. The off topic stuff will happen. Politics will always creep in. If you continue with a one-sided insistence for restraint, you will not get it.

Also, this place is far from toast... the all-time record for viewers of this site was 1344, and it was just this year, on April 29th, 2024. Double shotguns and Double Gun Shop forum are alive and well... no thanks to the pinheads who vote for anti-gunners.

I just saw Drew defend his facts when keith shot his big mouth off. Why should I be jumped on every time I say something and not defend what I say, Argo44? I simply ask about a gun store and Stanton insults ed and I about a simple question. How would you like to be called a liar every time you made a statement?

This is a very unique forum. It's a gun forum, but it's the only one I frequent that has a number of anti-gun posters that post about their enjoyment and usage of guns. You just don't see that level of hypocrisy in many places, even in our crazy world today.

Here's what I think - if you are an anti-gunner who supports anti-gun policies and anti-gun politicians, you really ought to be more consistent in your life choices. Enjoying using guns, and enjoying communicating with others about guns, should not be part of your life if you are going to actively support having those rights taken away from everyone else.

I really don't understand how anyone's mind works when they do this. There is no doubt about where anti-gun policies will eventually take us. We see it right here as described by our friends in the UK where the common man can no longer afford to even keep a SxS shotgun. We KNOW that will eventually happen in the USA and every other place that elects anti-gunners. Only the extremely wealthy are able to keep guns and enjoy the shooting sports. I guess the posters here think that they will be in that category when it happens here, so to heck with the rest of us must be their line of thinking.

If you support anti-gun policies and politicians and want to lead a consistent life, I believe you ought to immediately get rid of all your guns. And don't sell them, destroy them, as you must believe they are evil. And then log off this forum and every other gun forum. You can surely see that shouldn't be deriving any pleasure from guns when you support taking them away from others.

Once all of the anti-gunners do that, the problem is solved. A pro-gun forum will then be inhabited by pro-gun posters, and we can get back to talking about guns. And one subject we will ALWAYS need to talk about will be how to protect ourselves from the anti-gunners.
