A neighbor brought over a gun last night that needs a facelift, up on my initial exam, I noticed most of the screws on this gun are freshly buggered up (nothing the irritates me more) and a few will need to be replaced.
So here is the question, where can one find a smith that proffer hand made screws like the ones you’ll find on a Merkel?

Buzzbee any good machinist can make screws. Just make sure that you tell them that you want the slots lined up all the same. I do know a fellow that can do this send me your email and I'll email you his contact info as I don't know if he wants it spread all over the net.

I can do it....hand made screws are pricey! I can most likely fix the slots, either by peening the metal back and recutting the slot or tigging them up. Give me a call if you want, I'm in Boulder and love to meet the local board members. The shop number is 303-938-1996, right now I'm off to grab a sandwich, back in a few.

Buzz, It would well be worth your time to take the gun up to Steve in boulder and let him have a look at the screws.

Steve's a great guy and I'll bet this is your best route to repairing them, with out having to ship the gun somewhere.
