I've heard that there are modern powder loads that can be used in 10 gauge brass shells for old damascus barrel shotguns. Can anyone direct me to a source for data? Thank you. My old Parker will thank you too.

I use 31 gr. of 7625 in my plastic 10 ga shalls with 1 1/4 oz shot for my Parker Hammergun. However I think you will have to use a faster burning powder like greendot with Brass cases and fiber wads. Probably start about 25 gr and work up.

I also use gaugemates 10/12 and I use Black powder in my Brass cases with 4 1/4 dr x 1 1/4 oz with lead and 1 3/8 with Bismuth. 31 gr. 7625 in the cut off Plastics and 1 1/4 roll crimped is a good Duck and game load.Smokeless seems hard to ignite efficiently with fiber wads in the Brass cases.

This is from the Mighty 10 Gauge revision 3 and is their lead shot favorite hunting load with stacked card wads. I am guessing you will be using Rocky Mountain hulls with 209 promers. CCI- 209 primer 34.0 grains Unique (4) 10 ga .100 nitro cards + (3) 10 ga 1/2 fiber wads 1 1/4 oz shot 9 ga over shot card (I added this for the brass hull) In a Win 3.5 poly steelhead hull with star crimp or in a 2 7/8 hull with roll crimp this load is 8000 psi at 1280 fps. The pressure and velocity may be a little less in a brass hull.

Harry,
PM's don't seem to work for me on this site. Would you mind sending me an email at Marksman60@hotmail.com ? I see you are in Lexington and maybe you can help me with some information on a gun I bought at Antique & Modern.
Thanks,
Mike
PS Apologies for hijack.
