Does anyone know who made barrel blanks for the trade in the UK in the interwar period?
BSA certainly made them with their acquisition of Jessop's in the 1920's which proved useful once sales of their machine made shotgun got underway in the tens of thousands, in the 1920's.BSA would have made blanks for there rifle contracts to the Empire, prior to the purchase of Jessop's.
Vickers and from Vickers Armstrong from 1928. A steel, armour plate and big gun manufacture. Made blanks for supply to the UK trade.
What about Webley & Scott the largest of all the UK shotgun makers, did they make their own blanks or buy them in? What about Greener who were still selling lots of guns in this period.

Alan
