See the pin near the end of the action bar(not the hinge pin)? What does it do? I removed its apparent twin on the other side and the threads don't match; the left one is threaded near the tip and the right one is threaded near the head of the pin.

Through bolt? Does the short pin thread into the end of the long pin?

No. Both pins aft of the hinge pin are short, perhaps 1/2 inch. May have something to do with the cocking legs.

i have both a J P Sauer & a J P Clabrough which have pins here. In both cases they are the pivots for the cocking rods. The actual hinge pin likely stops at the slot for the cocking rod with the slotted screw visable on outside being merely a cover, though some cocking rods do arch over the hinge so it comes all the way through. Usually though, when you see it slotted for screw driver as this one is, it is not the actual hinge pin.
