Registration is going as expected and some folks are coming from out of state. Registration $8.00. 50 Clays $19.50. The shoot is at Mitchell's clays north of Salem, Oregon. Registration starts at 10:00. It includes a wild shrimp salad, sandwiches, etc. Razor Clam chowder if it under 60 degrees. Fresh Washington Oysters available but they must be order well in advance. We will have Lefevers on display weather permitting from DS to A, perhaps some higher grades. The shoot is for an American Gold coin, scored by clays broken and a fudge factor for age. The purpose of the fudge factor is to get younger shooters interested in shooting S/S. There are other trophy's for the over all winners in Skeet, Sporting Clays, and 5 stand. Sorry this is so late but my computer has been sick. John Svensson seakcharters@gmail.com (503) 738 - 0858

Thanks jas!
I've been hoping for a west coast SXS shoot, I get tired of reading about these east coast guys having all the fun. I'll send you an email.

Looking forward to it John! I've been working like a dog lately and really need to get away. How much are the oysters? I assume they're Willapa? Put me down for a half dozen if they're reasonable. Also, do I get an extra 2 or 3 on my scorecard for shooting a small bore? I know, I'm dreaming... See you there, Mark

Hey Captain;
I must bow out for this event. My wife and I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime and we will be out of country for two weeks. We fly out the 16th at 0 dark thirty. Trying to get the shop things done on a short notice schedule. I know this SXS event will be a success. Mark me down as a paying vendor next show. Hold me to that one, OK?

Dennis, That checking on a Lefever that you did for me will be the hit of the shoot. I hope you trip to Africa goes well, I would like to come over for a visit and discuss the project. I have a tag for area 141 for deer this year. Did you know Keith is going there at the same time? John

One last comment. We will be giving bonus points for small guage shooting at the event. Probably 16 - 2 points, 20 - 6, 28- 8 and 410 - 12. Perhaps 5 for over 65. Just trying to improve the shoot. jas

Many thanks to John Svensson for putting on the event. It was great fun and many nice doubles were on display. My 13-year old son shot his first round of skeet and shot 13/25 finishing with 10 straight. Fine way to spend a Sunday.

The finish was between two young fellows (24 and 26)for the Gold coin. They tied so we had a shoot-off. Austin Jones was the winner. John Carlo was the runner up and Evan Gould (11) took third place. The gold coin shot was to develop an interest in S/S shotguns among young people. Nearly 1/4 of the shooters were under 30 so it seemed to have worked. Glad your son enjoyed the day. JAS
