Pheasant season opens two weeks from today. Dosent look like Ill be done with harvest, but Im sure Ill be able to squeeze in a little hunting before I fire up the combine. Im really looking forward to it this year. My son (with the 20ga A5 will be using a French Ideal this year.

Looking good Ross! Hope to get out your way at least a couple times this year! Good luck with the opener. Too bad your so friggin busy during this time of year....the grouse hunting has been excellent!

Opened here yesterday and weather was great. Never saw so many road hunters, and guys were walking my place till sunset! The harvest here likely will be the largest in 60 years, with nearly a million taken. Last year it was 875,000 and there are many more birds this year. Beans are harvested, but there is still quite a bit of corn to be combined. I don't hunt pheasants as long as there is open water for duck hunting, but likely will be pounding the cattails for a few around Christmas time.

Man I hate those cattails. I to hope to be in SD next weekend busting pheasants.
