As a fellow S.E.A. veteran, I would like to take the time to acknowledge and thank all the veterans for their service. Let us also remember and thank all those that are supporting and working to get us through this virus. My God bless America! Karl

You're welcome for my service, USA 11/67 to 11/69, the good years. I'm celebrating today by watching Forrest Gump, Medal of Honor recipient and National Ping Pong champ. Left college in 1967 to become a model soldier, like me. We just celebrated our fifty year anniversary of happy civilian life.

Fifty years, can you believe it? Thanks to all of you (us) who served. Let me give you some background. In 1967, I didn't feel like a hero when I volunteered. There was a draft, and I didn't feel like I was alone. Today, there is no draft, and those poor suckers who volunteer are alone and they can't come home after 12 months like we could. I think they are heroes. What is going on today that there is no compulsory service, even running a typewriter stateside? I know that we haven't had a Chief Executive who has served for some time, but it's time a draft dodging Chief Executive bites the bullet and calls for mandatory military service. See you tomorrow on Viet Nam Veterans Day.

We were in serious wars 8 of my first 17 years. Thus in'55 almost every senior assumed he would be drafted, so most of us enlisted to 'get it over with'. I was a bit different, joining the National Guard as a junior just so I could shoot smallbore free in a school basement during the winter. I'm proud to have served. USMC 1955-1959
