There is no real definition of any of these terms and will depend on the shop involved .Personally I would define and did as follows, taking into account different guns needs and usages . However, normanly I only did either a strip clean and lubricate or a full service which would encompass both point 2&3 .-
Stripped and cleaned ,Gun stripped to component parts all parts cleaned checked lubricated and reassembled , bore polished, checkering brushed out and any necessary work noted and reported .
Full service would be the above with the possible addition of lifting any minor dents in barrels ,re flame blue any pins, action and other parts re-lacquered if colored or brushed off if bright .Again dependent on the gun some oiling and buffing of the wood
Action and mechanism overhauled again as above but with the addition of any work such as tighten forend and bites checking the lifts strikes, ejector timing , replacing worn strikers and springs ,axles and pins and any additional minor work deemed necessary .
Any major faults or concerns or recommendations should and would be discussed with the customer before any work was done .
