Anyone know what the actual constriction is on a Ithaca SKB 20 gauge model 100 choked full/mod. Trying to decide whether to send it out for choking work or not. Figure someone on this forum has measured one.

Tut, I had to do a little looking. I came up with a 280 20ga with 28" M/F barrels. I'm pretty sure the factory choking would be the same for all their various models. Constrictions were .013 and .025. Since I owned that one, I had a 200E 20ga choked IC/M, and the mod constriction was also .013--so there does appear to be consistency in what they use for a given gauge and choke.

FWIW, my Ithaca/SKB 20 Model 500 o/u is IC/M.

I measured the chokes on my 28" barreled Ithaca/SKB 200E 20 gauge today. They are: .012"right and .025" left. All original.
Hope that helps, Tom.

Tut, Keep in mind your SKB has chrome lined bores and not every smith has the tooling to open them.

SRH Interesting. From Stan's numbers and mine, it looks as if SKB was pretty consistent when it comes to choke constrictions. Not a good idea to assume, but I'd have some confidence that one would find the same consistency in 12ga SKB's as in the 20's.
