Has anyone ever touched one of these guns? I do not like the idea of a false sideplate gun but none-the-less it does intrigue my curiosity.
I'm over run with light weight game guns and none fit me like a glove. I'm getting close to ordering a bespoke BL (I cannot afford a bespoke SL from either Galazan or English/Scottish maker).
Boss-Robertson, Alex Henry (of James MacNaughton) come to mind and budget. What other makers should I look for? Spanish and Italian will not be considered. However, if I remember correctly the makers of the Krieghoff Essencia offered the same gun at a much reduced price and should certainly be entertained if I can find the name of the makers again.

What about just taking some of our favorite guns have having them restocked? Seems like you could have many guns that fit you, instead of having one bespoke.

Zeigenhahn or similar is making the gun for Krieghoff, but they will not make you the gun if you live in the US. They have a strict deal with them. I tried last year and spoke to them multiple times about it. Krieghoff marks the gun up about 10 k and really charges a lot for every little extra, that is why I ordered a Fox instead and very glad that I did. Not that the Essencia is not a nice gun, the ones that I saw were stunning. I also know of some significant issues from former owners, but Krieghoff always stood behind the gun without fail.

Fretting hours upon hours over restocking would be an understatement. Don't ask exactly why or why not, I just cannot.
Kevin,
Hmmm, one of my close golfing buddies is from Spain and still has numerous relatives there,,, I wonder if that might be another avenue?

Why do you not want an Italian or Spanish gun? Some English makers are selling these guns with their name on them: ex. Alex Martin. You're excluding the potential for a very nice gun.
Finding a vintage English gun that fits me is like finding a needle in a hay stack. Recently, I found just that. A turn of the century era Stephen Grant with a neutral stock and a length of pull just over 15 inches. Typically, I look for vintage English guns in good mechanical condition with a stock that has been altered or damaged. This lowers the price, and I don't feel guilty about altering a vintage gun. I then get them restocked to my dimensions. Ordering a bespoke gun and restocking will likely take the same amount of time. I just had a Fratelli Rizzini restocked that took just under one year and four months. However, it was worth every day I waited for it.

Gee, I guess it's just my cheap side showing through again, but I like box locks with false side plates. Maybe it just the gunsmith in me that hates to see the skeletal remains of a busted stock from a sidelock action.
Or maybe it's just my poor education. Does this mean that the rotary box lock is not a vary strong action and a side plate action is stronger?
Was A.H. FOX wrong?

The thing is, the ol'beans would know and you'd be looking for odd days in the worst weather from then on. No mannor house, no warming fire to take the chill outta your breeks, no gunroom and no 18 year old dash of something for your bones.

And this from the land that brought Public school education such fine things as buggering your class mates? You had to wonder what the great makers really thought of there "betters"?

My guess is most of "busted stock sidelocks" you looked at were junk to start with.
