bczrx, Its hard to tell from the pics ( they won't blow up for me), if this is something special, or just a kinda gaudy gun.The wood looks very plain, the engraving looks pretty crude, & is the gold Gold , or "gold tone"? But like I said, I can't see much detail. Whatever it is, from the q's you ask, I think you should let a real gunsmith check it out in case you bugger it up...just my 2cents cheers franc Where did you see the photos of this gun? Thanks TM

Manly gun indeed. That is the shotgun made by Victor Sarasqueta for Manolete (Manuel Laureano Rodríguez Sánchez), one of the greatest of the Spanish bull fighters.

Well, it is now resting in its' mandatory 10 day wait for me to pick up [California], and then I can get it home. Are you saying it is girly? My mom taught me to shoot a rifle at age 4 [I have it now], my grandmother taught me to shoot a pistol at age 8 [have that also], and great-grandma was the best shot in the family- using her 1903a3 to bring the deer home [I will inherit that-but dad is using it]. With a family background like that, I have no problems with one gun that is a bit girly. On the male side: dad tramped the swamps of north Dakota to field test weapons for the marines in the early 1960s- so I get it from both sides.
Classic 'field' SxS's are what draw me in- that way I can have more than one!
