I may get in trouble on this one but here goes! At the Louisville show today.........Dave Riffle had two RBL's and a Parker repro. sitting side by side. This was my first look see at the RBL. No comparison........Parker much better in wood to metal fit also better cut checkering. The choke tubes looked hogged out, not very pretty. The Parker was a 20ga. two barrel set cased, over 5 grand. The RBL's where cased of course at 3850.00.
Not to get off the original mans thread I'm getting to my point. Also had the opprunity to look over the S&W Elite. From what I have seen this gun looked great! I'm not going to say the gun was on par with the RBL's, but for 2200.00 it isn't much behind for sure. The wood to metal fit was very similar and I thought the checkering was also cut better than the RBL's. If you could get up graded wood on the S&W's(and the wood was nice)I think 2200.00 is reasonable. But I'm not buying new so that just my two cents!
Take Care,
