First off- congrats on taking good pictures. One of my biggest pet peeves are bad pictures of guns when someone is trying to ID what they have. I'm done with my rant. The condition of the buttplate of the gun is great, not visible cracks or chips. Nice gun. Do you want to fire it? Get it checked out fully before you do anything.

Thanks Storms.

It was my Grandfather's gun, then my Dads. My dad put inserts in it, altho I don't know the size. I'll probably keep in the safe if that is best for it .. or if it doesn't hurt it pop off a few for fun.

If you want more information on your gun you might post it on the Parker Gun Collector's Association web cite. They are very helpful and have a lot of imformation. Google will find their page for you if you are interested.

It looks like the serial numbers may not match on the latch plate(name?) in the bottom of the groove on the water table - or is that just my eyes?

One poster opined the gun is worth 'several thousand dollars' - I don't think so. For one, we don't know the bore or if the barrels have been cut. Even so, a Damascus G grade in 12 ga. would have tough time getting into the several thousand dollar range unless it were really mint or had been owned by the Czar of Russia. Don't quit your day job yet.

Parkerfan, I noticed that you have the old case. I wouldn't be sliding that gun in and out of it since the steel zipper will scratch the wood and metal further degrading it. If you must case it in a soft case buy a new one with a plastic zipper.

Looks like a #2 frame GH to me. Get some WD 40 or something to prevent rust on it. Being a 2 frame it is most likely a 12, the most common frame size for 12's. Karcher does good work and can tell you if it is safe to shoot with low pressure loads.

The numbers match on the lock plate, 269 upside down.
