A few of the Canadians have seen this on another forum but thought I would share same with this audience. BBS member Roy Hebbes discussed this 12/10 set with me before I purchased it this past fall. Roy describes it as "quite rare".

Set came complete with some nice cleaning and loading accoutrements, load recipes from 1890 written on prescription stationary, and a description of provenance from the family. This must have been a great favorite of the owner as has seen a lot of use - the 12 gauge barrels more so than the 10's. I would love to go back in time to share a blind with this fellow on Long Point, Lake Erie.
Wondering if anyone has similar or has insights into this one?

I like oddities and Jeffery was a better maker than some give him credit for.

Very interesting gun. Thanks for showing it to us. Love the old accoutrements.

Is it a shooter? Good barrel wall thicknesses?

The barrels are a nicer than usual English 2 Stripe (smaller and more symmetric scrolls). Easy to see the straight ribband weld line down the middle of one scroll with the wavy "zipper" rod weld down the middle of the next

Thats a fun set. I think Lincoln[e] was a son or similar to George Jeffries who made, among other things, interesting pinfire reloading tools. I have a Richard Jeffery pinfire cased with the Jeffries tools. The names are similar, but not connected, and I think no connection to the Jeffery rifle maker.

Stan, the 12 gauge bores and muzzles look very good while the 10 gauge seem outstanding. Not yet been to the smith for confirmation of barrel thickness where it counts but my feeling is will be a shooter. Have waited to give it my full attention after a couple of other new-to-me guns have been restored. This one will continue to wear its hard-earned scars and patina but I do intend to shoot it.

Wow, love the concept.
To have worn the wrist checkering so much & yet keep the metal so nice that Long Point fellow must have liked that gun very much.
