What do you want it for? One certainly looks like somebody's trap gun. I doubt 1 1/2 x 1 5/8 came that way. Almost coin finish.. Usually effects engraving 13" before the Pachmyer field pad?
The other seems the opposite end of the renewal spectrum. No claims to refurbishing in the ad. So, with that deep blue color, I'd ask.
Out there doing it best I can.

To my eyes the Gunbroker gun is a restock while the RIA gun has its original butt stock. But, then, they are L.C. Smiths, not to be found in my gunroom.

My anxiety about guns coming from the trap line always haunts me. A bad choice, and they are worse than a boat.

Clapper - I know my opinion and what I see. I just wondered what those more knowledgeable might think or perhaps what I am not seeing. I though this was the exact place for double gun discussion. The gunbroker gun is mine. I am real curious to see what the Rock Island gun brings. I like mine better , like 32 in barrels just a few dollars better, but overall judge them to be of quite similar value.
But per my question. It is always nice to have more opinions, notes or assessments.

Thanks Mr Miller, if I could transform it into a Grade 5 straight grip instead of a vent rib crown I would be pretty happy with it.

Mark Did I say something you are uncomfortable with? My observations about the current state of that firearm are what they are. And, I mentioned my anxieties about guns that look like they have visited the trap line.
I'm sure a collector of LC Smith crown grades will have a more distilled opinion of the particulars.
If you aren't getting any bites, and the RI gun sells solid, well, the market will have spoken for you.

Clapper you asked why - I was answering - no hostility meant. Appreciate your reply and tried to answer your question. Sorry for any misdirected inflection.

Original wood on both, but the Gunbroker wood appears to be a bit rougher (poor photos), 98% reblued bbls, but the receiver is gorgeous. The total lack of case colors on the RIA puts me off a bit, like it was ignored while everything else was spruced up. In the balance, the suggested prices seem a bit steep as I look at these guns.
