Some of you will have visited the UK's biggest Game Fair in previous years, before it all went t*** up a couple of years back.
Last year, after must messing around, we landed up with a reasonably successful replacement which received good but qualified reviews and its 2nd year took place this last weekend.
I attended on Friday and was pretty delighted with what I found.
The venue was Hatfield House, a short distance off the A1M and only a short drive north of London. The layout was compact without feeling cramped, plenty of clean loos, food vendors dotted round everywhere and very few queues for anything. I drove straight in at about 10.30am in a short line of constantly moving cars, the parking was extensive and only a 5 min brisk walk to the entrance, there were tractors and trailers for those unable to walk the short distance and the ticketing staff welcoming.
As a BASC member (trade actually), entrance was free and I immediately bought a program and planned my assault!
All in all, a great day out with LOTS to see. All the big names were there, lots of eye candy and the guns were pretty too.
Thoroughly recommend it to any visitors to the UK.
Next year it will be at Ragley Hall, Warwickshire and I suspect it is going to be bigger and better as the people who chickened out this year realise they need to be there to be seen.
Oh and when it returns to Hatfield House in 2019, the railway station is right outside the main gates so those wanting to visit from any place served by a station, can get there without a car!

I also went on Friday and would broadly echo all of your positive comments, though I got there very early (before 07:00) and had quite a long walk from where my car was parked.
No queues, easy (free for me to) entrance, quite well laid out.
Fishing areas pretty thin. Ground very soft going, but dry, so no problems.
Only problem (and no fault of the Game Fair) was dreadful traffic (2 hours at a walking pace) on the way home late Friday afternoon on M25 and M40/A40 through Oxford.

Friends who had paid for advance/forward parking (Friday) did have some problems, and I understand it got VERY muddy today after overnight rain on the soft ground.

I will go again next year (Ragley) which is quite near me fortunately.

Ragley Hall is a decent distance from me so will try to get there next year. Hatfield a bit far. When I last visited the old style Game Fair at Ragley in 2013 it was straight in and straight out with no queueing. May have just hit a lucky slot as I arrived mid morning. Hope it will be free for BASC members again as that is a great plus. The old Game Fair became very expensive. Lagopus.....
