I know that Union Armera became Grulla. How does the quality of Union Armera shotguns compare with today's Grullas?

I've only held one. I would put the quality of that one example in the not so fine double category.
But my recollection is that there was a wide swing on quality.

It depends on where in their line the gun was priced. By my view, under the "Buy the gun, not the name" principle, Spanish guns are the sort of inverted.
If UA or Grulla or DAKIN, etc. gave the gun a NAME, rather than a number, it denotes higher original quality and price.
So a "Consort" or a "Monarch" would denote a higher OQ and OP.
Some of the cheapie Spanish sidelocks of the 60's were pretty crude inside.
Out there doing it best I can.

I owned a Union Armera 215F 20 gauge for some years. Shot a carload of birds with it. The quality was not quite up to the later Grulla guns. I did have a broken striker and the tumblers were a bit mushroomed after years of use.
The locks were reasonably well finished, the gun shot were it was pointed and handled well. This gun was made by UA for Dakin and so marked. It had the grulla (stork) proof marks. IMO, comparing these guns to British or Italian bests costing 10X as much is silly.

My inquiry was for a matched, numbered pair. Usually that implies quality workmanship. The price was a steal, thus my query. However, when I got the details I found the stocks, at over 15 1/2" and 1/2 in cast off (I'm a left-handed shooter) would involve a lot of stock work times 2, and so have passed. Thanks for your help.
