Look, you need to be very careful here. Look around this forum and you will see more than a few terribly afflicted guys who are downright circling the drain hole of 'Lefever addiction.' You don't just flirt with these guns and walk away. You WILL get hooked, and it CAN get expensive. Before you know it you're creeping around shooting events with that 'thousand-yard-Lefever stare' in your eyes. Waking your wife up in the middle of the night cuz you're mumbling about Circassian walnut in your sleep...

Is that the original stock?

I have one lefever that many years ago was converted into a sxs double rifle in 30-40 calib. with a straight field stock. I hunt deer with it very year. at 75 yards 1 inch group love it.

I understand the dangers of Lefever addiction...Mr. Joe Wood got me started down that dark path, at a Vintagers event. Beware!

Unless there has been a recent change Lefevers are one of the better buys in American doubles. I have several of them from an early E down through later H's. I bought them all at far better prices than I could have bought any other "Classic" American double grade for grade.A VH Parker for instance would have cost me 2/3 times what I paid for my G which is in very good condition with most color remaining.
If you have spotted a good buy on one, my advise is Snatch it up NOW.

I bought a nice Lefever last month. I think I am through buying shotguns.

To the original poster- Your profile doesn't say where you are from. If its the East Coast let me invite you to either the Southern or Northeast Side by Side events where the Lefever Arms Collectors Association will have displays of various grades and gauges of Lefevers. Our annual Uncle Dan Cup will be held at the Southern and the Fox-Lefever Challenge at the Northeast. If you are real nice to me you can probably even shoot one. Walt, your dream gun will be there, stop by and drool.

Thank you for all the replies and information. Dr. Bob, I am on the East Coast, thank you for the invite. I was at Hausman's Hidden Hollow last year and picked up the Lefever brochure they had on the Lefever Association's table, which sparked my interest. I plan on attending again this year, so I'll stop by. As for the slippery slope, I've slipped down there a while ago, it started with finding examples from different countries of origin, to solid examples of American classics to currently saving up for another English or a Scottish gun. Thanks again to all.
