I have obtained H&H letters from their London office where their records are kept. There is a fee of course. I recall they e mailed a copy of the letter as well as mailing the original to me. I recall doing everything on line.
Am I correct that the 375 express is not to be confused with 375 H&H? An incredibly beautiful rifle!!!
The proof marks show 54 grains of Cordite and 300 gr bullet. It is not a .375 2 1/2" Nitro Express. It is a .375 Magnum, however the question is whether it is the .375 Flanged Magnum or the .375 rimless magnum. With the 54 gr of Cordite, it is likely the flanged (rimmed in USA terms)and this can be determined by a photo of the breech of the barrels. The .375 magnum rimless is favored in bolt actions while the flanged version is liked by the double rifle builders. Of course there have and are many double rifles built upon the rimless version.
