Gents, I don't know anything about this nor do I have any connection to the seller or sale. I do know it checks a few boxes for some folks here.

http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread.p...able-Firing-Pin

I am curious to hear comments about the use and utility however.

Thanks!

I would like to know about his research that says it was done by Sedgley, I have nearly all of their catalogs and there is nothing listed like that. They made the safety firing pin and a speed lock firing pin but I'm not familiar with an adjustable one.

I am reasonably sure that what we have here is a one piece Springfield firing pin sold by Numrich Arms for $3.75 back in the late 1950's. Brophy does not list it in his Springfield book, but I found a Numrich ad in a 1959 American Rifleman which does.

XAUSA nailed it perfectly ... I bought my first Springfield 1903 back in 1958 and, based on the American Rifleman ad by Numrich for this " one piece safety firing pin, with crisp speed lock action", I spent the $3.75 for one of them ( along with $3.50 for two new 1911 pistol magazines with pouch). I still have the rifle, but I reinstalled the original firing pin assembly and gave this 'rare & desirable one piece firing pin" to a buddy who needed a new striker years ago. Numrich advertised that lock time was reduced by nearly 50% with it, but I never noticed the difference!
