I just acquired Parker 113243, It is a GH, 30" Damascus, DT, PG in 70-80% original condition. The thing I am curious about is that it is a 3 frame. I don't recall seeing many 12's in 3, but it is marked so, and weighs in at a hefty 8lbs 14oz. and the frame measures to be a 3. It looks like a cannon next to my DH 1 frame. Curiously, the serialization book has the gun being a DH rather than a GH.
Any thoughts on how common 3 frame 12's are?
I love the look Hobbs, my Vizsla, gives me following my second miss in a row.

There have been several discussions about 3-frame 12-gauges on the PGCA web site -- http://parkerguns.org/forums/My Grandfather's 1890 vintage Parker is a 3-frame PH-Grade 12-gauge that weighs a hair over eight and a half pounds, with 30-inch barrels that swamp in very fast. I have an 1889 vintage GH-Grade 12-gauge on a 2-frame that has barrels with virtually no swamp and weighs in at a shade over nine pounds. The Brothers P with all their frame sizes did some weird and wonderful things with weight and balance.

3 frame 12g guns are very desirable umong Patker folks. They are relatively uncommon and would have originally been built for heavy weight. Usually for waterfowl use.

Thanks guys....I have been idle on the boards the last year or so, but have still been collecting. this gun is well used, but was also well taken care of. Case coloring only left in well protected areas. I just re-upped my membership on the Parker site, and asked the identical question.
Brian, I still need to get that VH trigger bow to you that was bent in shipping...
