My "new" Fox XE and BE with auto ejectors frequently get "stuck" on me at the range. Specifically, both guns upon firing and then opening, will have their ejector hammers sticking out making it impossible to close the action. I cannot manually push them back in but need to remove the forearm off of each and use a screwdriver to push back or reset the springs located on the inside of the forearm for the ejectors to recess. Both guns may fire a few more rounds before this problem repeats itself. Any idea why this happens AND what the fix is to it as well as cost? Is this an "a typical" or common problem with Foxes? Thought this problem was odd for both guns to have the same problem. As an aside and thought I would throw this into the mix, both guns were completely refinished/refurbished by the seller and my visit to the range was both their maiden voyage. Both guns are 12 gauge and I use 1 oz loads. Before returning the guns for inspection, I was hoping for a "head-up" by you folks in determing whats going on. Thanks for your help.

Bill, after firing the gun and ejecting the hulls when you close the gun that pushes the ejector hammers back. Even if ejector hammers will not stay cocked the gun should not be hard to close. It would eject fired shells as well if ejectors not cocked.Have you tried a different brand shell? Maybe chambers are tight and shells not going in chambers easily causing gun very hard to close. If guns still have the problem you need to let a good doublegun man check them for you.Usually an easy job to deburr ejector sears or replace the ejector T shaped parts in nose of frame. I assume you mean ejectors are sticking out and hammers are not cocking! Email me a gunscrew@yahoo.com if you want to. Bobby
