I have a shotgun that is an E.R. Amantino 20 gauge upland surpreme, with choke tubes.
I know it was made in Brazil and imported by Stoeger.
It has great wood and appears to be a pretty good gun. Has anyone had any experience with these?

I have a 12 ga. Stoeger Uplander that was made in Brazil. I think it was made by Amantino but I don't have it with me right now to check.
I love it. It is not a high end gun so I don't have to worry about it getting used. It works well and I can (usually) hit what I am shooting at with it. I will be taking it pheasant hunting in a couple weeks so we will see how it does in the field.

I have two of them. Both are butt ugly but in my experience, very reliable. An Amantino is the first gun I grab for hunting in situations where one of my good guns could get scratched or dented. Make sure the internals are thoroughly clean. Mine were packed with gummy grease from the factory and wouldn't fire all the time. I completely dis-assembled both guns, cleaned the crap out and oiled moving parts with Eezox.
Practice safe eating. Always use a condiment.

I just had a range session with the gun. For a 20 it is pretty hefty, although I didn't weigh it. It swings well and functioned fine. Maybe I am letting the reasonable price influence me unnecessarily. After all my rough duty waterfowl and field gun is a Stevens 311 12 gauge. Not an expensive gun but dependable.
The jury is out but I am keeping the gun and see how it works.
Pheasants tomorrow.

How did it go with the pheasants? I took my 12 ga. out Thursday and bagged two. I had a misfire with Remington ammunition but Kent loads worked fine. Not sure what the issue was with the Remington. I think the shells got cold. The temperature was in single digits. I switched to the Kent loads and started carrying my shells in my shirt pocket where it was warmer. Not sure if the issue was the temperature or the brand.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. The gun is very nice and it did the job on pheasants. This is a very inexpensive gun with screw in chokes,a nice piece of wood, good wood to metal fit.
So far it seems like a real fair value for the money. That is interesting you say that about Remington shells, they have always been good quality, but I have had misfires in both rifle and shotgun ammo. Not often but once in a while.
