I just looked at the unsold gun list from the James Julia October 4,5,6 &7 auctions and was amazed by the list of hundreds of unsold guns. I have never seen so many after one of their auctions. Either Julia is getting a little carried away with gun values or the consignors are getting greedy! Here is the list of unsold guns; http://jamesdjulia.com/auction/october-2016-firearms-auction/?available=1Rapidfire

"Either Julia is getting carried away with gun values or the consignors are getting greedy."
At least on the Lefevers, they were pretty much on target. Bob Noble provided this summary list. I bought one of them, just below the low estimate. When you add the buyer's premium, I think four were ABOVE estimate, all the rest within their estimated range.
3479 opt 40K 3480 AA 45K 3481 super G 15K 3482 B grade Ithaca built 42.5K 3483 CE 12 7K 3484 CE 12 6K 2485 CE 20 mono blocked 6K 3486 D grade 3.5K 3487 EE Ithaca built 3.75K 3488 SO 1.25K 3489 Early E $400 3491 C grade 3 bbl gun. 14K 3492 BL 7.5K 3493 DM 16 ga 27.5K 3494 DM. 10K 3495 DM 9.5K 3496 DM 6C 8.5K
There were so many really high end guns that I suspect the offerings just over whelmed the buyers' budgets!

Well, I see I jumped to an incorrect conclusion. Ken just sent me a summary of the Lefevers still for sale. I assumed Bob's list was guns sold, not hammer price on which some were not accepted.
#3481 Super G 2 barrel Est 20 - 30k #3483 CE Est 12.5 - 22.5k #3485 CE 20 Mono block Est 7.5 - 12.5k #3487 EE Ithaca assembled Est 4 - 7k #3488 EE SO Est 1.5 - 2.5k #3489 Early E Est 0.5 - 1k #3490 G Est 0.6 - 1k #3494 DM 5B Est 15 - 25k
This makes it look as if there was a minimum required bid of more than 90% of the low estimate on these guns.

There was a Fox XE 12 gauge (lot 3519) that was bid at 5K and I'm guessing that didn't hit the reserve price and its now available for offers. Ditto on a DE Fox that hammered for 11K which apparently wasn't accepted. I think that DE Fox has now sold at a bid higher then 11K as it's no longer shows offers are being accepted on it. Could be wrong as I'm wrong a lot.

If you go to Invaluable and search Julia, you can see the prices realized if you login. I like their interface and the account is free. I lost the bid on a Lang SxS by one increment.

The prices I gave you Terry are what I saw watching proxibid. I didn't realize that they didn't sale. I think the Lefever Ellis and the Nichols Lefever didn't sale also. Hopefully the price has maybe topped out on Lefever.

I believe the $5000 XE Fox has cut barrels.
