Good morning.....

I'm looking for some help regarding a JP Sauer & Sohn Double that was dropped off at my shop. It was missing the complete forend assembly. The client was able to find, what he thought, were replacement forends for the JP Sauer on Gunbroker and purchased them. Neither one of these forend assemblies fit but one comes VERY close. I was able to get the two cocking/reset levers to fit inside the forend catch by taking .015" off each one but then it still won't seat completely. It's so close to going back together that the client wants me to keep trying to get it fully functional.

I could use any advice you folks could provide me as well as a source that would have parts list or a schematic for this double. I just got off the phone with the client so I've not gotten any pictures of the shotgun. I know they will help when it comes to getting help so I will get them posted ASAP. But in the meantime, any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It is really hard to tell since there was many variations in Sauer guns over the years.

A couple things to add... First, how do I post pictures to this thread..? Second, I've not been able to manually reset the cocking levers. I really don't want to modify this shotgun any more than I have and I am not above admitting defeat and recommending a more competent gunsmith to this client.

Thanks
