4 of us are panning to attend for the first time.
Guess I am a little confused. As it is a 2 day trip for us to get there would appreciate a little clarification.
So if we want to shoot the main event for score is it mandatory to shoot an American made shotgun?
Thank you.

There is no requirement you shoot an American gun, only that you shoot a SXS.
The first two days (Thurs & Friday ) there are 50 target sporting clays events for all gauges and for hammer and hammerless SXS guns. Winners in all those categories may win prizes, regardless of whether they shoot American or foreign SXS shotguns. Also, there are side games throughout the event - usually Mad Jack, Five Stand, Flurry, Bo Whoop long bird, etc. Those events are mostly for fun, but there are prizes for high scores as well.
Saturday main event may be shot with either American or foreign SXS. There is a prize for overall high score. In addition, there is a winning "team" for the highest combined top scores for American made guns (Parker, Smith, Fox, Lefever, Winchester, CSMC, etc). The winners do not have to shoot together as a group.
Also, there very nice door prizes on Saturday after the shoot, donated by the vendors. You receive raffle tickets for each event you shoot and prizes are drawn at the end of the shoot on Saturday.
The emphasis is on fun, more than competition. And very fun it is. A great event to shoot, see many collectible guns, books, art etc and make new friends.
Here are some nice videos that give you a flavor of the event:
