Sorry, every double gets a name and this one goes by "great Scott," in my best Doc Brown voice of course.
This is the first British gun I have worked on and I am amazed at the difference in fit and finish over the classic American and Spanish guns I have torn apart.
This is a 1909 Scott with no engraving other than the makers name on the receiver, and name and address on the top rib. I am not responsible for blueing the action, and I may have it re-cased if I can shoot it decent. Other than a chip out of the stock it was in very good shape when I got it.

It is 28" barrels, and weighs 6 1/2 pounds. It has 1 1/8 ounce nitro proofs, 2 5/8" chambers.
A few in work pics;

Very nice repair. I have the same gun from about the same year. You will enjoy it.

I shot a hundred bird sporting clays course today and shot a very good score (for me). I used 1 1/16 ounce 2.5" H+H Royal plastic shells and they and the gun functioned perfectly. They didn't seem to tax the gun any, although in a 6.5 pound gun the recoil was noticeable.
I just might have to send the frame away for new case colors just to finish the old girl up right.

Glad to hear the old girl has a new lease on life! Definitely keep us updated if you decide to get the case colors redone.

Just out of curiosity, what recoil pad did you use? I am thinking about attempting to fit something similar to my latest and greatest Brit trade made double. Great results, BTW!

It is a Cervellati lightweight pad. The gun lost over 3 ounces when I replaced a 1 inch Pachmayr pad with the 1 1/2 inch Cervellati. I am 6'4" so all my guns get pads and the big silvers pads weigh almost half a pound, that is why I tried the lightweight.
It was a little harder to fit, and luckily I was refinishing the stock or I don't know that I could have ground it well enough without sanding it and the stock at the same time. The side profile has a different texture to it, almost like the inside of a nerf ball, although much more dense. It would be a good candidate for leather covering, but that might negate the weight saving?
