I am told that an Ithaca Flues model can be adjusted if it goes a little off face. Can anyone describe how this is done?

Install a larger hinge pin or build up the barrel hook with weld and refit. Bobby

If it is truely off face the hinge pin and or saddle in the barrel lug will need to be dealt with. A quick fix is to determine the amount the barrels are off face and place a shim between the pin and lug to compensate for the wear. This is only a temporary fix as the shim can work out or become lost when the barrels are removed.

If the barrels are on face but the lock up is loose, there is an adjustment of the straddleblock on the locking bolt that will let the gun lock up proper again. The Top lever also needs to make contact with the barrel extension when the locking bolt is engaged.

Just be sure to engage the top lever first, then adjust the underbolt. Tighten the set screw and you're all set. It is a very nice feature.

Count me among those who Do, but I highly suspect the OP (Or whoever had told him) was confusing the fact the Flues has an adjustable underbolt with being able to adjust for Off-Face as mentioned.
Many it seems simply do not understand that off face & loose bolting are two entirely different entities.
