Hammer spring in right backaction sidelock on my early 1900s J. P. Sauer hammer double is way too strong. Trigger pull is greater than weight of gun (about 6,2 lbs). Hammer spring on left sidelock is much lighter and trigger pull on left barrel is nicely much less, quite nice actually.
I have narrowed flat springs for several other guns but, they were not nearly as nicely made. Is narrowing the spring my only option? Or, is there a source of replacement springs? Maybe I get lucky and get weaker spring, at least, I would have spring I can file down, while still having replacement.
