I have nothing to add to this, other than to say that you've got a gorgeous old gun there. Beauty!

On the underside of the left tube it appears to be SO???SN and then 365.2 below that & there are script letters like LH or something of the like just forward of the flats.

Kind Regards/Cheers,

Thank You for the compliment: I have to credit Jon Hosford of Ann Arbor, Mi; for putting the gun "back on face." He tightened a "rattle trap" into a very tight on face gun.
The gun has been a labor of love for me, and hopefully this summer, I will have 28 gauge tubes in it (Briley) and will be able to use it. The interior of the barrels are too pitted to shoot as is in a 16 gauge. (Again; Jon Hosford measured it and said "don't shoot it as it is.")

I will never forget a cartoon in a shooting mag about 60 years ago. Two guys were examining an old gun. The caption was "See those stripes? That's real damascus boy. Now watch how she handlesthese magnum loads". I've thought of it many times
