Hello Gentlemen: I found this shotgun for sale. I only know that A.W. is for Albert Wilhelm, that was made in Suhl when Germany was divided (DDR) and that I liked it because it seems very well built and it is almost new. 12-70, ejectors, full and extrafull chokes and sideplated as you can see in the photos. I do not find any reference in the blue book or Internet. Could you give me information about the brand name, quality and value? Thank you for any input. Best regards,

DDR gun expert in Russia rate Wolf guns very highly, especially sidelocks. Apparently, they were just about the only outfit in Suhl at the time who patterned and regulated their barrels, so Wolfs were highly sought after by those goose hunters who didn't like repeaters.

The seller ask around $2,600 US dollars for it. Do you think that it is a fair price? You can see the photos; it is in very, very good condition. I like the shotgun, but the price is high. Please I need your educated advise!
Thank you,

Para mi, demasiado caro.
While I like the bold scroll w/stippled background-contrast, the dog and ducks have an unfortunate cartoon-like lack of delicacy that is very common in German guns of the period just before and after WWII. I have a "Nazi Simson" with those same ducks.
Guns of this design are very strong and unlikely to shoot loose with modern loads, a very good thing.
But for me, this just isn't a $2600 gun. However, the market in Mexico MAY make it much rarer and more desirable there than it would be here in the US where doubles are (presumably) in greater supply and easier to buy. I'd say it's a $1500-1600 gun here.
Just my opinion and likely worth every cent you paid for it....
