I am trying to remove the sliding breech from a V19 Darne and can't find the button that your supposed to push to slide off the breech. The Darne is 1960-1970 vintage.
Thanks

I figured someone with more knowledge than me would have answered this one by now. I have an R-10 model which may be completely different from what you have.
With mine, there is no button as such, but if I feel under the back of the extended sliding breech I can feel a protrusion an inch or so in. If I depress that protrusion I can slide the sliding breech right off...Geo
By the way, welcome on your 1st post!

Just wait till you try to get the barrels off...Geo
Post this on the main forum so Ted Schefelbein sees it. He used to be the US dealer for Darne during the time your gun was built...Geo

Bob:
Make dead certain it's a V and not a P. The Ps' breech requires tools to remove and are not readily readily removable.
I recently acquired one that was finished and marked as a Grade 19 and it's down having some work done by Kirk Merrington at the moment. Gorgeous gun, but the only way I'll ever have the breech off is with a qualified gunsmith's assistance.
