The local gunsmiths here in my neck of the woods in N.H. don't know much at all about repairing real SxS's (already found out the hard way). My Zephyr boxlock was balky sometimes, now the left barrel refuses to fire. It has sentimental value, so I would like to send it to somebody good. The last gun I had a problem with I brought to NE Arms, but we know that is no longer an option. Recommendations ?
thanks
Rick

Fox', maybe you can give more info on what you mean "refuses to fire". Do the triggers not fire the left barrel ? Or does the trigger fire the left barrel, but you get no ignition ?

When I pull the rear trigger , it feels and there is a sound like a normal hammer fall, except no dent on the primer. It used to happen occasionally (maybe a light hit) now it is constant. I can see the tip of the firing pin as well.

Rick-

As per an earlier post, I would recommend you contact Kirk Merrington. He was recommended by other members of this forum and I am very happy I sought him out to fix my double when I had a broken firing pin.

Here is a link to a thread you might wish to read regarding Kirk.

Abe Chaber Danbury, Ct. 203-748-1830 and Mitch Schultz Ct. 203-254-0436 have been highly recomended on this and other Forums.
Steve Hutton Britannia Sporting Arms Portsmouth, NH 603-431-3512 is another option.
