OP WJL Sidelock Joined: Sep 2008 Posts: 465 Louisiana	Now I need a sling for my Durren Springfield. Since it is styled after a G&H sporter a Whelen or 1907 would be appropriate. The only Whelen sling I can find is a Hunter. It would be servicable but not of the same quality as the rifle. I have '07s on some military rifles but would prefer a Whelen for the sporter. Anyone know where I might find a Whelen sling? Jerry Liles

brionic Boxlock Joined: Aug 2015 Posts: 8 IA	Stay away from the Hunter sling. It is nothing like a proper Whelen, but is instead an "affordable" version of the military sling made with inexpensive leather and poor hardware.

There seems to be some conflicting information about the sling but I do have Whelen's drawings form one of his books and I believe we can use them to make one. Jerry Liles
