Berlin-Schuler-Waffen [fabrik]?
Top of receiver is marked Model.317 K?
Just below that 'BSW'
and just below that Shul
Anyone familiar w/these .22 LR single shot sporting rifles? Can't seem to find much information on them. Model number is very easy to read, but suffix is a funny 'K' cartouche with another one or two characters incorporated in it that I'm not positive if reads KK, KR or KKR. Recently acquired one w/B & U proofs. Late production, I think. Serial # 1819XX. Chequered pistol grip, tangent rear sight w/elevator calibrated to 200 meters, blade front sight. Bbl. is roughly 67cm [26.5"] marked 'Fluss-Stahl-Krupp-Essen' in German [Krupp fluid steel]. Sling swivels are fitted for the narrow European strap. It has a half moon type extractor that covers the lower half of the breech w/an extension arm running in a groove in the receiver's bottom that connects to the bolt underneath and has a spring assist that returns it forward after ejecting a round. Bolt head fully surrounds the cartridge rim when at battery. Wood & metal finish, inletting and build are all very high quality.
How to release the bolt is a bit of a mystery to me at the moment. Anyone know the correct method/procedure or where the release is located? There is none apparent and holding the trigger back or pressing it forward will not release it.
Any/all information forthcoming about these rifles and/or bolt release is most appreciated. Thanks!
