Here's a little 16 ga. Jones Underlever that I got from Mark Larson. The gun was advertised as a Belgium guild gun when Mark got it. These are the only markings on the gun.

It's a sweet little shooter that will see some action in my grouse and woodcock coverts this fall.

It just has me curious as to it's homeland. smile

Thanks for any help you might be able to give me.

Rick

I can't help with the marks sorry, but as it has a the cheek piece, wondered if it had ever been a double rifle ? May be totally wrong but it's just a thought.

the big E was used in Eibar Spain - but much later than this gun was likely made- Reproof or repair?

Just been looking here. The E could be a variation of the ELG mark on older guns.

Looks like German & Sauer & Sohn but I'd like to see more images of components & marks.

It's not the same shape either really is it, it's a lot bolder and square on the barrels. There was a German express symbol with a crown above a very similar letter E.
Can't find anything else yet. I love a good puzzle.

Tubes look like early fluid steel??? I don't see any Belgian touchmarks only possibly a Austro-Hungarian mixed with the German/Sauer & Sohn process marks. I'd guess the E to be something like Eckoldt. I'll search though.

Contingent of J.P. Sauer & Sohn process marks.
