Valentines day is just around the corner and I was reminising about long past girlfriends and the ones inparticular who enjoyed the hunting sports. I have bought a number of guns for presents for birthdays, Xmas, valentines and other occasions, mostly shotguns and mostly doubles. It seems I don't remember the crushes so well anymore but I still have a vivid memory of every gun and almost all went the way with the girlfriend. Upon more reflection I realize now that I bought the guns for myself and should have just loaned them as I don't suspect any of those girls still own the gun or hunt.

Haha, & Ditto, but only a Beretta 303, 20 ga for me. I don't have much use for it anyway.

You could have bought them flowers, jewels and wine only to later married them. Friend is going through his third divorce, getting married and then divorced, is more expensive than a drug habit. At least this time there are no kids. She wanted to do invitro and he was thinking about it when they fell apart. His first divorce cost him mid six figure, second about the same and I suspect the last one will be expensive as well. I think when he sees Feb.14 as the 13-th, all bad luck for him.

Had I known I would be blessed such a long and glorious bachelorhood, I would have acquired a try gun. Lefty, righty, short, tall, skinny, or curvy…simple as turning some screws.

I cannot complain about my wife as she tolerates my collection of hobbies. She has no desire to shoot anything, so I haven't needed to outfit her with guns.
It is possible that buying a few guns to send off with a girlfriend or two is cheaper than outfitting my two children through the years when they are seemingly too big for last years gear every season. Guns, bikes, skiis....

Probably everyone has heard this joke, but a wise man said rather than get married you are better off finding a woman you hate and buying her a house.

Hmmm... My wife keeps buying me shotguns; I hadn't realized I was doing it wrong...

Perhaps, but only on my deathbed.
