I just got a good buy [$175] on a brand new, all leather Toe Under Style, 2 barrel Takedown Case. It is my first, of this style. When I put my straight grip, 20/28 Gauge Sidelock in it, I notice it was very tight when tucking under the divider and also in the water table block. After taking it out, I noticed the divider had made a faint line on the toe of the stock, where it had compressed the Renaissance Wax coat and maybe the finish, to some unknown degree. Is this a normal occurrence/problem with this style case? Obviously it will be going in and out, when hunted and stored. Therefore it doesn't make a lot of sense to try and correct the stock rub, each time. Any suggestions or just learn to live with it, in exchange for the protection, the case offers? I understand the need to be tight, to keep the parts from rattling around and getting more wear. Opinions, Suggestions, Observances, Welcome and Sought. TIA Jerry

when I talked to Jeff at Jeff's Outfitters, he said the toe under design does not fit all guns.

maybe the toe area of your gun is thicker. Or maybe the case is made more narrow. It sounds like it is just not the right combination.

I have a lightweight 12 bore hammer gun in one, no damage to the stock.

OH: I am happy to report, my wife suggested I try some Renaissance Wax on it, to see if it helped to remove the mark. When I did, I realized the mark was on the wrong side, for the divider to cause it [bottom/down side]. Then looking closely, I realized it wasn't a mark at all, but was a pattern of the grain, in a slightly different shade and texture. Mystery solved. In the immortal words of Emily Litella, [Gilda Radner] on SNL in the late 70's...Nevermind!
