Anyone ever seen this combination on a model 21 duck single trigger, splinter. Could a splinter be ordered in the early 50's instead of the standard beavertail?

For the longest time I never understood all the fuss and prices for a Model 21. But they really are a fine, handsome gun.

Here's a '33 Double trigger 12 gauge with a rare early splinter forend and an English stock. 28", 6 lb 12 oz.
As "handsome" as the day is long.

Most of their looks lie in their brutal strength. Wish I had bought a few back in the late seventies and early eighties when their prices were a lot lower.

I have an extra original ejector / splinter that is very nice. Let me know if you need one.

Bob: Thanks for the reply and pictures, very nice guns---I like the look of the splinter. Here is a duck with single trigger and splinter that was in Saturdays Amoskeag auction.

That's the "Bees Knees".
When compared to a splinter on a Parker or Fox,
I'd bet there's twice the material to hang on to.
I shoot mine at clays all day long with nary a burn or blister.
Did you win your auction?

Yes I did, I love waterfowl guns and this fit the bill perfectly. 30" F/F 3" chambers, splinter, pistol with a pad with drop and LOP that fits me perfect. The single trigger will be new to me but it will be appreciated in the freezing weather. Hopefully it's as nice as the description.

Win 'Duck's' made for stock had beavertails and had a specific factory # but none were made for stock with beavertails in the 1950's. If I remember correctly there were pistol, straight grip and 30 and 32" barrel options for stock and of course DUCK was stamped on the floor plate. You could of course order anything you wanted from Winchester and the only way to know about a particular gun is from Cody which houses the Winchester Model 21 records.-Dick
BTW I don't know if Winchester would make such a simple subsitition or would ask for the Gun to be ordered as a 'Custom Built'?
