I ordered a Manson Wall thickness gauge and a Skeets bore gauge in 16/12ga.
Any tips on setting up and using them would be appreciated.
Thank you,

I hang mine from a ceiling joist in my basement. I also replaced the dial gauge with a digital gauge from harbor freight.

The set up is not the most accurate method or tool, but it seems to give good enough readings to determine if I should have it checked by someone with more accurate equipment.

I purchased mine this year and learned how to use it thanks to this web forum. I hang it horizontally from a water pipe in basement. Can then be slid into barrel and moved on pipe very easy (16" max.). Have to ajust to maintain level with barrel (can't let rods touch barrel wall)and don't read while touching gauge. I record every inch form breach on top, reset for side and bottom. Then do the same from muzzle. It's a long process but it works. The barrel is held off table by at least 16" using shot bags.

Forgot to mention. I zero and level the gauge by tieing the top bar up to horizontal with fish string close to the ball. just before inserting in barrel. Remove string when inserting in barrel.
