Thanks very much for the information. I have much to learn with regard to old European smooth bores. You and others have sent me on down the road to further edification....would really like to know who made the action for this gun.
And really want to shoot a few woodcock with it...which will occur in fairly short order...

No worries Jim. Seeing the frame is devoid of any Belgian marks, I'd guess it was sourced inland in Bohemia. Sometimes there is a monogram on the standing breech and if there isn't anything there, then you will have to inspect the frame with 1/2 pipe side-frame reinforcement in & out. If it was sourced from the Weipert area, Emil Gustav Rupert Bittner & Winzel Morgenstern are 2 of the prime culprits. Let me look

M-4 kindly forwarded an O/U Kerner-Anson that experienced proof at the Weipert facility in Oktober 1941.
