That black stuff on barrel flats is moly coat, some wears away as the grouse drop from the sky.

Interesting that the water table has Heinrich Ehrhardt's trademark. Can you post an image of the area from the flats forward to the forend lug?

I guess it is because it works for me, but I don't see all the fuss on posting images. Photobucket changes from time to time but the protocol is pretty much the same. The issue with using site specific posting is unless you are a member you can't see it & many times you have only those poor thumbnails. But on Photobucket when an image is moved or an account deleted the images are gone. NE has it best by capturing images after they are posted. Takes some time image by image & data space. Yeah, email them. I would say the 3 initials are from J.C. of Mehlis but I can't put the C together with a Mehlis gunmaker. So it may be a mechanic with a last name of M??


Is there an Eagle Nitro stamp on the sides of the tubes at the breech?

My biggest problem with photobucket is lost resolution.
And it has a reluctance to copy image to clipboard.
