I have obtained a set of Chamber Gauges, they are extremely well made. Have any of you seen any like these ?

They are in order from the top.

12, 16, 20, 24, 32, and .410 - no 10 or 28.

Here are a few close ups of the 24 Gauge

Notice how the Case Head section is cut away for the extractor ?

The 12 Gauge - each gauge has 1930 stamped on it, the date I guess ?

And finally this little Tool - it was mixed in with a bunch of LC Smith Parts.

Mine's a tale that can't be told, my freedom I hold dear.

Who needs a 10 or 28 bore chamber gauge when you have a 24 and a 32. They sure are a lot better than what's made today, it looks like they even measure the depth of the rim.

Could this be a cocking tool for LCs?

The taper from where the case head ends to the end of the case is also Indicated by a stamping the denotes the diameter at these two points.

The case head and rim thickness is also stamped with the measurement.

Some thing tells me that these were used in the Manufacturing Process and not just gauges used by a gunsmith. Then again I could be wrong.

The LC Smith tool is for recocking if you manage to fire off the gun with the barrels removed, whereby you cannot get the barrels back on until you recock it. While it can be done it is very difficult without this or a similar tool. Don't ask how I know that.
