Unfortunately, the gun is some distance from me and I won't be getting back there this week. I was surprised at how well made it was. Unfortunately, the LOP had been shortened to 13 1/4" with a newish recoil pad. The checkering on the fore end was well worn and in need of refreshing, although the checkering on the straight hand grip was in very good shape, Probably 24-26 lines to the inch. The two pieces of wood seemingly matched...
The engraving was very fine and well done, and a pattern different from any I have seen. It was similar to Purdey style in that there were bouquets of roses inside circles with english scroll surrounding it, but there were two (or was it three?) circles (not unlike Boss Style) but with a different placement.
A very handsome receiver...
I may be confusing two guns (the other gun I spent some time looking at was an obscure German 16b), but one had inlaid black diamonds (perhaps ebony, 1/2" long, 1/4" high) where the drop points should be. When I perused the hundreds of pictures of V Bernadellis on Google last night, I didn't see anything similar...
Thanks,
